January, 2003 iCE Pack
1. We would like to express our condolences to the families of the seven
astronauts of NASA flight STS-107. It was a tragic day for the world and
our thoughts and prayers go out to those who sacrificed their lives on that
terrible morning.
2. This is a buffer entry to attempt at a transition to our more light-hearted
newsletter entries.
3. We have to welcome some new folks to the group, yet again! 3 helpings of
new members. We'd like to welcome two long-time tiles.ice.org stars,
Max E. Tormer and Raganaga. From their work on tiles, both Raganaga and
Max have already released art in iCE Packs, and now they're finally iCE
Members! Three cheers for them.
We also have to welcome DeadGuido to the group! Lee Kembel joins us after
stumbling on our website. Hopefully we'll be seeing some great art from
him in future packs!
4. Sadly, we waved goodbye to Spear this month, who is leaving us for personal
reasons. We will miss you Spear!
5. HFaze wrote us to let us know that his Shamen Remix font released with iCE
way back in June of 1997 was found in Viz's Shonen Jump manga in bookstores.
We all think that's pretty cool!
No pessimist ever discovered the secret of the stars, or sailed to an
uncharted land, or opened a new doorway for the human spirit.

Having a new iCE pack is like having Halloween at the begining of every month... First the suspense as you try to see if there's anything spectacular from the previews, much like going around to that first block of houses and getting the first candy, then a steady intake of everything in no perticular order, and then finally the dying shudders of your internet connection or your stomach as it just can't cope with everything. I love Halloween (and iCE is NiCE too ;) ).

wow.... iCE is still around..
Glad to see it, too. I was a member way back in like 1991. Pre-Internet and all. BBS's and conference calls...heh. I only see one of my old ANSI login pics here (handle then was microfarad), but I know there were a couple of VGA's done, too. Dunno what ever happened to them.
Those were the days, indeed. Keep up the good work, fellas.
