July, 2002 iCE Pack
2. In the ANSI department, we need to welcome back Fire From Heaven. Joining us for the first time is ewheat, Alla Xul, ReAnimator, and Spear. ewheat held a press conference to announce his membership, and Janet Reno introduced him. There was a gasp when the reporter from the LA Times asked him a question involving rubber tubing and his failed babysitting business, but he handled the stress well. Alla Xul told us all that he thinks of himself as an African princess, but we let it slide after we saw his skills with a cursor. ReAnimator shared his plans for world domination as well as a new fragrance for men. Finally, Spear wowed us with his ability to (verb) a full (number) inches of (noun) into his (noun), at least until Trip and Root88 put on a double act that totally outdid Spear's feat. Welcome to all the new members! In the words of Sinned Soul, "I don't give a damn what the court order says, I'm going to go visit my grandmother at the gun show!"
3. New hi-res artists this month are Picky, Devious, and Arcipello. Archipello joins us from Newcastle in the UK. He tried to apply over the phone with us, but he was completely uncomprehensible - speaking a strange form of European ebonics while wearing some sort of gas mask. Next we have Devious, who admitted that he was from the Great White North. We let him in anyway. Picky was born and raised in Croatia but immigrated to the United States and joined iCE when she heard that Slothy was single again.
4. After perfecting her tattooing skills on her children, Sprite has decided to open her own studio named Lady Hawke Ink in Kansas City. There will be a 20% discount on iCE forehead tattoos. Good luck Sprite!
Wishing you a hot, sweaty, itchy August,
Root88, Trip and Slothy

Is the order of the pics shown in random order each time you visit it? If it is, I think it sucks really.
This way, everyone gets "Equal Billing". I think it's a great feature. Tinster
Plus, the layout doesn't currently take the thumbnail size into account, so the first column was like 3x longer than the others, due to the huge ansis. This gives a more balanced layout in general.
Jon
I'm going to think about this a bit and think of a good way to reliably reproduce the randomness and lay it out well.

I remember this site when it had that flash animation and frames. That was some time back. I remember when I first visited this site, there was literally no other digital art site like it. Every month I would download the pack and unzip it to my ice directory which was categorized into year-to-month folders...
wow, them were the days...
Now we have sites like DevArt and MANY more digital art pages made by private people. Unfortunately, I have no digital art skill, and I sure would like to know how, since I want to become a web designer, and with that job comes the task of making sites look good. Take a look at my site and see all the graphical "talent" that it fulfills (mywebpages.comcast.net/biffmasta). Not much in my eyes (or in anyone elses for that matter).
So, I like this site, but the inability to download packs is not hip, considering I can still d/l acid pax.

iCE packs were called "Frozen Packs."
and
There used to be a monthly newsletter in email. Apparently that is no longer running.
I think if you travel to ftp.ice.org you'll find the packs. Now, we haven't made the zip files for this current pack yet, but we'll get it up there soon. The number of people interested in getting the zip files is so amazingly small that it has to take last priority. Right now putting the pack together, writing the newsletter, getting it on the website, and submitting the news to sites is such a huge task that the zip files take last priority.
And yeah, it was javascript, since there was no Flash yet back then.

p.s. anyone remember when the iCE website was on freedom.wit.edu? :)
ansi looks way better in a viewer than a browser.
nice pack btw =)
Jon

Yep, the twisted crew is back! This time with an all new layout and a snappy new site design (designed by fibermarupok, and coded by kreationz)! We’ve also added a ton of new talented artists! Axoneflux has joined the twisted crew, and has several pieces for this release! Issue #2’s featured site is fade to noir, the site of artist noir! Our interviews this issue are with kaos of abnormis, and larkie of breed (as well as twistedrealmz)! This issue also debut’s our first ‘conversation with the artist’, with a more casual environment than that of an interview! It’s kinda like kickin’ back in your living room with one of your favorite artists and just hangin’ out! In this months conversation we sit down with the legendary deaddreamer, aka misery in motion! Really cool chat! We also have added album reviews to our site, with fangedfems reviews of Korn and Linkin Parks newest releases! And don’t forget about the amazing talent and art we have at twistedrealmz! This release is packed w/ some of the most talented young artists around!
So check us out now @ http://www.twistedrealmz.com …..and get twisted!
