August, 2002 iCE Pack
This Month We Bring You... | |||
1. Well, we made it! It's our 10th anniversary of packs! Although iCE was started in 1990, we began releasing a monthy archive of our artwork in 08/92. That makes this pack our 121st iCE Pack - the start of our 11th year of packs! Over the years we've released 4,576 pieces of art from 693 members. That comes to over 400 megabytes of artwork!
Over the years, the group has seen some great times and some low times, but we've never missed a single pack. We've met some really cool people over the years, some of whom have been trickling back to say hello once again. We've had numerous parties, countless fun times, and we plan to do it all over again for another decade of packs! We hope you'll be there with us for the next 10 years! We couldn't do it without you guys!
2. Who shot the J.R.? Who stole the string of pearls? Which key opens the the secret door? These things and more can be yours for only $19.95. Order now and receive a free Radioactive Man #1 comic book ($100 Value)!
3. We would love to thank DeviantArt for the Best Art Group award from their 2002 Devvies Awards! We couldn't be more proud of the honor, and we thank everyone at DeviantArt for the award! Let us take this time to say that Breed and Raster are both really amazing art groups and you should go check out their packs if you haven't yet.
3a. We'd also be negligent if we didn't give spx a huge pat on the back for his awards from the Deviant Art Devvies! Congrats on winning Most Original IndyArt and Best Overall Wallpaper! Way to go spx! Congrats to all the other winners on DeviantArt as well, just don't mind us if we shamelessly plug our crew :)
4. You may have noticed that Trip went balls-to-the-wall this month and organized a full-scale ansi assault! We'd love to welcome back the hallowed Marshal Law and the omnicient Tempus Thales! It's great to have you guys back for our 10th Anniversary! Way to show the newbies what the old school rusty fellas can create!
5. If you haven't noticed, Root88 is not wearing any pants this month. We attribute this to deep childhood trauma and emotional instability. We expect that it will be entirely remedied by next month, however.
Hoping you move across the country and sleep on the floor for over a week, Root88, Trip, and Slothy

your characters are awesome... I'm jealous ; )
However I have a suggestion, don't put a fading in the last part of your animation or increse the delay coz we don't have time to read the text...
I'm not sure I understand exactly your question, but I have a suggestion for you... Do you know that site ( http://sexylosers.com/ )... the guy put a new strip everyweek and it's seem to have a certain succes. Maybe starting a website and publishing new stuff periodicaly should be an idea for you?
Continue you great work... and what about a tutorial showing us how you draw your characters ;)
Sorry for my poor english... hope you understand...
10yrs ago (at the tender age of 14), I started my 1st BBS on a 486, with 100mb's online and a 14.4 modem. Couriers brought in iCE packs monthly; they were by far the most commonly downloaded philez, overshadowing warez by far. You guys taught us kiddies to draw comp graphics by hand and are still showing us the way.
Today, at 24, with six web/database/dns servers on a T1 with half a terabyte of drives online, I marvel at how far we've come. Despite all the changes, iCE is a constant presence that remains true to old media in ANSi but not afraid to explore the realms of hiRez. You guys are the great-grandaddy of the digital art world, you've inspired more people than you could possibly know. Glad to see the old timers like me still hanging around, and also the fact that you're still attracting new blood.
Keep up the good work!
