My first time using Photoshop... looks like it's back to the drawing board ;)

anybody have any specific suggestions that might help me improve?

Try to avoid pixelization.. make things look smooth. Define your edges a little better since it's so small, so some darker outlines or well-placed shading is good. Other than that, practice every day... draw like hell until it looks good.

Just kidding. To get better pictures use "Gaussian Blur" on the image - it definitely helps.
