I love this tile...
... and I can't vote it other thing that 5. But I love it as single tile, my question is, why this change of style in one of the best quilts ever done (in my humble opinion)?
Re: I love this tile...
There're more than two different styles if you ask me and its imho not this one makes the hardest cut yet.
But its a good question, well, a difficult one.
First of all its the way a surreal quilt works, you have some borders given and you try to interpretate them in the best way - so the most important thing is, it has to fit the borders, only second look goes to the whole quilt.
Then, this quilt is not painted in one session or just over one week, while your mood is different every tile also your knowhow evolves over the time as your style.
And another thing is, (this tile is one of the earlier ones,) this is the first tile with purple colors in and i thought about this decision to cut the green on this one. But this quilt is made up of 48 tiles and you can't really paint 24 tiles yourself by just repeating all the same content, just to prevent some little breaks in style.
So its everytime a compromise between "just fun doing it", "fit the borders(and the other ones style)", "fit the whole" and "a good looking tile by itself".
_And_ in the end its up to you if you really make the decision to click the upload-Button and name the tile "be worthy of".
