Er..
Where's the theme in this tile? There're some beads, no ropes, and nothing that was given was continued.

Re: Er..
I would beg to differ. Have you ever looked inside your computer? It's the very definition of knots. And the circuits on the board are twisted and convoluted enough to be knots. I gave it a three for innovation.

Er ???... (Grrr...)
Young Mike-
I see that you are still steaming over our last go around. Please let me set you straight on this tile and whatever you do, I hope that I do not intimidate you by presenting a commentary that you may deem long winded, that is often the first defense and retort, for those who have no other plausible defense.

My tile was single bordered coming to me. It is also a border tile that required two simple things. I needed to join the tile at my right by continuing those seven violet colored tubular strips that were offered by my neighbor.I also had to bleed off the lead in threads or whatever, to the top and the bottom of my addition.I chose to see them as wires and not the ropes that you allude to, that was my prerogative Mike, part of the use of simple imagination. To ask me as you did, "Where's the theme in this tile", is as inane as a question can get from someone who considers that imagination is no part of this exercise. If you cannot see the "theme", read Stuart's comment right below your own.

You had an opportunity to read the creators hopes for this project and to interpret as to whether I was "allowed" to see that these could be wires and you also saw yarn, thread, rope, ribbon, beads and chain being used as elements to the theme set down by Katherine. If you graded me because as you assert, "nothing that was given was continued", I suggest that you study the tile a bit longer and see if you are correct in your declaration.

Although I thought that my tile was truly unique and also had not detracted from either the theme nor the appearance of the quilt,I submitted it
with the understanding that it might always have been rejected by the quilts administrator. She accepted it without question Mike, why can't you? Take a look at how long this quilt has dragged along and tell me where you were with these observations along the way.

And also, as I look at the quilt today, I am truly impressed by it's outcome. I see some really talented people out there. The work is gorgeous and all those who participated should be more than proud. For all of the many hours of nosepick work on newbie quilts and those hours of great Mainquilters enjoyment, no other undertaking here has inspired me to to be as creatively rebelious as you seem to want to paint me. I would love to simply say, I really don't care about what you think, but wouldn't that sort of negate my taking the time to set you straight as I am hoping to do here and now?

Each of you, as I have said, has done impecable work on this quilt. I wish that I could praise each of the artists individually because it would be righteous praise and they are worthy. I have only time to say that I was most impressed with the remotely diverse but beautiful spirit of Miskate, or Caitlin. The detail of her hand is fantastic. To think that she saw that pitcher plant out of that blob of green shit that I left her, was heartwarming as a great bailout for the situation that I left her in. Her "Corner detail" is the nicest corner of the quilt and I lucked out and got the adjacent corner but didn't have her skills and did not arrive at her success level.

So Mike, I'll be going now but not before letting you know that it has been my pleasure to be with you in this capacity and thank you for stopping by at my uniquely imaginative tile!
Eddie

Stuart, Thank you for begging to offer your own point of view.I'm so happy that this tile was worthy of those three points!

Re: Er ???... (Grrr...)
Ahh, but did I have any negative intonation in my comment? I didn't have that feeling when I was writing it. I was asking a question and stating my reasons for confusion. And no, I'm not steamed. I don't get "steamed", or angry, for that matter. So you perception on my comment was a tad off, but no biggie. I've got my explanation, so all's settled. I only ask that in the future, because of the nature of textual comments, that you try to read all possible meanings, and not always assume the worst of people. :)

And though you call me "young" as if it were a negative trait, I prefer to revel in my youth, thank you. I may not be as old nor experienced in life as you are, but you needn't try to use that fact to make your comments seem more justified.

So all else aside, nice tile :)

Mike-
Yes, you were correct and I commend you on your thoughtful reply. Forgive me if I offended you in any manner. You do nice work too Antaydos, I guess that I was just looking for an ass to bite! Please overlook it and you have my assurance that I will curb my sarcasm as well as review my policy on confusing wisdom with age! Stay, forever young... Eddie
