a 2?
Well... it could be better for voting on this one seeing how it blends with the others... but it seems it is doing very well and I like very much the result. Congratulations for your last tiles! :)
Reminds me....
I would have titled this tile, "Fall of the House of Usher".

I guess I like this tile more than you do, I think it's worth more than a 2.

Re: Reminds me....
From that chamber, and from that mansion, I fled aghast.
The storm was still abroad in all its wrath as I found
myself crossing the old causeway. Suddenly there shot along
the path a wild light, and I turned to see whence a gleam so
unusual could have issued; for the vast house and its
shadows were alone behind me. The radiance was that of the
full, setting, and blood-red moon which now shone vividly
through that once barely-discernible fissure of which I have
before spoken as extending from the roof of the building, in
a zigzag direction, to the base. While I gazed, this
fissure rapidly widened--there came a fierce breath of the
whirlwind--the entire orb of the satellite burst at once
upon my sight--my brain reeled as I saw the mighty walls
rushing asunder--there was a long tumultuous shouting sound
like the voice of a thousand waters--and the deep and dank
tarn at my feet closed sullenly and silently over the
fragments of the "House of Usher".

Aside from the blood-red moon, it's dead on.

I really like this tile.. a few things to think about to make it a five though, the blend into the sun could've been much smoother. As is, there is a definite line focus which makes the squarish of the tile stand out from the rest of the quilt. It doesn't look -bad-, but it could look spectacular with a smoother color-blend. :>
great job, LIE!

To the board, a comment....
I remember how hard I struggled to arrive at this tile. In haste, I drew down a 3 sided tile and was sure that I would be able to connect the three sides in a credible manner. After thumbnailing through hundreds of photos, I just couldnt find any photo that would suffice. There was a distinct object there on the left side that appeared to be a whale (snout or jaw), rolling in the sea but certainly not enough of a hint for me to credibly blend. I had little hope of matching the bottom because it was not distinguishable as anything that could be easily recognized. I felt so shitty about checking out a tile that I could not handle and decided to fudge in the clouds, (clouds cover a multitude of sin) and add an image to confuse the focus at the bad blend line. I came to upload it and again, to vow never to take another three sided tile. As I clicked it off to the quilt, I was very skeptical about it's acceptance and reserved my vote for the time when I could see how poorly or how well that I had done in it's context. You should have seen the quiet smile on my face as I got a glimpse of Shaun Root's tile and the bat wingtip that once was a whale of a problem to me. You'd swear that I was lying if I told you that when I saw it here on the quilt, that I too gave a thought to Edgar Allen Poe as I seemed to see a bat flying from the eaves, there at the house of Usher!
Thank you for the redemption...

Re: To the board, another comment....
Weeks have passed and now I look back to see that there starts a plane on the rockmass behind the polar bear that continues to Katherine's tile without linear interruption until it meets with a complimenting angle in the corner of the tile that I placed here. The angular plane of the base of the house of Usher(as it were...), seems to follow thru the wingspan of Shaun's Bat to Dove transformation. Maybe it's just my perception but the quilt seems to be falling into a whirlpool here created by the vanishing wave line at the lighthouse base. Then again, maybe it was just something that I smoked...?
