I don't get it...
how is the storyline developing? What does this tile mean, I don't understand... Please elaborate...
Re: I don't get it...
Hehe. I'm only playing off of the previous tile. In that tile, it looks as though the character has reached a part of the sewer system that empties out into the city. So I designed my tile in keeping with that direction, and the style of the gritty narrative. There really isn't a point to my tile - it is more of a transitional scene. I actually don't think a clear narrative will emerge for at least a few more tiles. It's still pretty early.

So.. fluffy blood or a cloud of blood? Uh.. I don't get it either... or it could be a splat on the paper, but it's not really splat-like. Or the red on the side is just decoration? Or a dude with a red afro. Okay, so much for my brainstorming, I can't come up with anything decent.
Re: Re: Re: I don't get it...
It's really not that obscure. If you look carefully at the tile previous to mine, you'll notice that it shows the circular sewer passage reaching a dead end in which the city skyline can be seen in the distance. You also can see that the trail of blood appears to empty out of the passage. My tile simply shows the blood trail spilling out of the sewer passage and being spread by the wind out over the city.
As I mention before, there is really nothing "to get" from my tile - it is really only a transistional image.
The Fink quilt is meant to be a collaborative story - which means that there is really no set narrative for the story. The narrative will slowly form as each tile artist adds to the story development. I hope you two are spending too much time trying to figure out a plot - it's simply too early in the process for that. Your time might be better spent creating a tile for the quilt to help drive it towards a narrative. The quilt hasn't had a new tile for quite a while now. I hope everyone isn't just sitting back and waiting for the story to appear - it doesn't work that way. :)

Hmm.. well, as soon as I figure out something to add that actually makes
sense, I'll be sure to do it. :>
