...at least, what is especially wrong here?
Yeah,
this score seems especially low.
People seem to be voting really low on some of these tiles that are really not that awful.
What I'd suggest to further enhance your tiles is to include what is giving to you on the edges, instead of just looking for a reason to terminate its continuity and fill the tile with your own idea.
Base your idea around what is giving to you on the edge, incorporate it, then let it dribble out the other side. It makes for a much more tied-together quilt, IMO.
