First i must say i like your idea on this, it connects the other parts without forcing in anithing that would destroy the image.

But when it comes the the painting part - tststs
I thing there are some bad mistakes on the left side connection,
Maybe you where to lazy or you did upload a preversion - put it hardly connects at all.
Your painting stops with white and some copy of the original image while the other one stops with soft grey and white!
Try and do a better yob on that part.
A tip:
Zoom in closely to the left border,
use a soft 1-3 bixel brush and use the alt key constanly to match the connectet color while drawing.
If you want to use the margue tool to make your painting area you can marque and press ctrl+h to hide the marque.
Send a new version to the admins, i think they will up that new one instead.
Alas the quilt gets real fucked up on that part.
