JPEG?
I posted a PNG - why is a JPEG in the quilt? The scales are all blurry.

Re: JPEG?
The answer I've seen is that displaying all the JPGs in a full quilt takes long enough already. I know that it's less quality, but going to each tile's page shows it in PNG form, and when a quilt is finished, the option to view it in full PNG form is made available.
Re: Re: JPEG?
yup that's the plan. actually though, since the new server was put in place the quilts are all displaying png images. something to do with what the coding permits. so... on this "in context" view there is a jpg... but if you look at the same tile on the quilt page you'll see it's a png.
Re: Re: Re: JPEG?
Well, that's all that really matters. Thanks!
Feedback?
Could someone suggest how this could have been better? I suppose I could have drawn a leg of the dragon, with a claw grasping the other half of that green stem in the tile to the left. Any other suggestions?
Re: Feedback?
I think the main problem is that the apparent subject in the tile is so dark. I know your borders were dark (or even black), but you could still have highlighted the main shapes in your tile even if you couldn't extend that shading to the borders. Either that, or use the dark shapes in the border to make a background, and then feature a more brightly-lit subject within your tile.
Re: Feedback?
I don't know about a leg, but one thing I did notice is that there is lots of black space left in the tile. The tile on it's own looks great and your artwork is good but if you had found a way to go closer to the black borders with some color that would have been really kewl (I know it's hard to do that though) When other people leave the black on thiers it limits yours.

jacob...
... it looks as a very good tile... but in my monitor for example, wich is a little bit darker than the average monitors as I know, I see near nothing red even if I put the brightness to 100%. I've had to download your tile and check it with photoshop correcting the brightness by software. And, a 5 from me. But try to make you tiles less dark next time... If you want to paint a dark dark thing, it is not a problem to use higher colors for the highlights... even if the rest is black for example... the result continues being a very dark thing.
Re: jacob...
Thanks, Javier...I had no idea I was using invisible ink! I'll definitely check the brightness of future tiles.
