They killed my tile !!!
Don't take it so hard
Surrealism is an expected part of tiling, as are unexpected tiles. If you really want neighbors to continue what you've drawn, include an obvious feature in a border, like an eye -- but even still, there's no guarantee.
There's no point to getting upset at others' tiles; just try another tile yourself, because that's all you can control.

you're frustrated ???
imagine my surprise, curiosity and frustration when this showed up as the first uploaded tile on what was, at the time, titled "cold colors quilt" XD
can i ask while i'm at it anyway... why you cut her out and pasted her, instead of just using your original... [or even using alpha channel for a cleaner capture]? i mean there's no rule against using your own work, and you just went from one warm background to another.
no biggie, and no worries i won't vote on this one, just very curious.

Re: you're frustrated ???
For those who think I'm really frustrated ...
I'm not really, it was just surprising to me because i taught my tile was exhaustive (clear) enough (is that the good word? i don't know!).
For the question of the title, blue is a cold color i think and red was put there to make a contrast, if i did hurt to the first title, i'm sorry i'll try not to do a such thing in the future...
thx

no harm
really. :o)) i just was wondering where i went wrong i guess. guess i shoulda made it "all cool colors" or "no warm colors". but anime is fun too, and Amy made for some interesting neighbors.
the large Amy image is cool too... is she part of an ongoing anime project of yours?

Re: no harm
raganaga, I thought I'd butt into this conversation to say that I'd really like to work on an "all cool colours" quilt (assuming by cool you mean pastels? light blues etc?), can we start it now? Or can we newbies do that next? Fiberoptic, Amy is well drawn, I have no idea how to draw anime style so I'm envious.
Re: Re: no harm
purples, blues and greens yup... we can try to do it as the next newbie quilt or mq ... ;oD
Re: Re: no harm
Heh, I think that technically, Anime is more of a collection of styles than a style itself. It's basically a type of cartooning with exagerrated features on people (usually) and an emphasis on motion, and most run at 8 frames per second (instead of the usual 16fps for most American animation, or 24fps for the majority of movies and live action TV).
Re: no harm
thx for your comment ! ;-)
Re: They killed my tile !!!
i was frustrated at the girl's head not being completed, also.
i gave your tile a three because of your choice of background.
i don't know why people choose gradients as backgrounds, but it makes it quite difficult to blend.
also, the girl seems to have been cut and pasted in a slap dash effort to punch out a new tile.
