Interesting adaptation! I like it, and voted a 3 :)

My suggestion -- you could have blended the textures on the tiles around yours a little further. On the bottom, that light blue texture is soft and deserved to go just a bit higher in the tile, and on the right side of that bottom tile, the white speckling pattern just cuts off in your work. However, I like the th eme and the understatedness of this one. :)
