Well, you pretty much just took a basic pattern and color from you got on the left border and continued it all the way across your tile. It almost looks like the lower half of it was done with the smudge tool. Really, you should make your tile as detailed as your borders, and also add things to your tile to make it interesting. You could have added another of those white fields or grey pipe-like things from the border, too, for more continuity and a [i]far[/i] more interesting bottom border. You should always try to extend something interesting into each of your empty borders -- a shape that comes close without touching is even worse than an empty gradient or color.
