firstly do not use bevels as they normaly look crap. secondly do not use glows even more so when the glow is of conflicting colour to everything else. thirdly maintain a constent colour scheme instead of jumping all over the place. fouthly do not use smile faces as they tend to look a bit rubbish. lastly do not just flip something in the border with out changing it. fliping is fine aslong as you change it. i hope this helps
