Well, as far as criticism goes, I don't have much to offer for this. It's pretty good. One thing I will mention is that you should draw a few pixels over onto that grey/black checkerboard so that you can ensure a clean edge.
Other than that, I'm completely biased toward animals, so I recommend you draw more birds in your tiles and less humans.

I haded the idea of drawing more animals just after i drawed this picture so,
