not a bad start
The content is well done, and the blending shows promise. Next time, though, try to make the blends more gradual. Notice how when you look at this tile in the quilt it still looks fairly square. Try to get more 'flow' into your tile. Other than that it's an admirable first tile, four sider to boot! You don't start off easy do you? :)

Sorry
I'm sorry but this tile is like the straw for me, you didn't blend the grass into your tile. I can see your familure with blending, you blended the red box over into the tile nicley. You did not blend anything else though and that is obvious. I don't feel a tile should be given a positive score unless the tile shows the creator at elast was working with blending their picture and thus shows sportsmanship and social skills in working with the group.

Re: Sorry
I disagree. The blending is there, it's just not extensive. A tile shouldn't get negative scores unless it is obvious that a picture was plunked down with no regard to surrounding tiles. Evil is heading in the right direction. I'm sure the next tile will be an improvement on this.

Re: Re: Sorry
I suppose it depends on your definition of blending. It's apparent to me that you define it as its literal definition, but for me, it's more than that. Blending for me incorporates neighboring tiles into your own, creating something that can spawn from your neighbors. This tile doesn't do that. Instead, it's an individual piece in the puzzle that sticks out like a sore thumb.

oh, I agree with you absolutely. What I'm saying is that it's a better start than some others I've seen.

Yea i'm sorry too. Heh, you guys are really harsh. I get no points for lighting? Shading? Detail?

All that matters is how much i blend?

I think Evil has done a good job especially for a first tile. I wouldn't even touch a 4 sided tile at this stage. 2 sides is the most I'm prepared to tackle yet. The blending of his checkout tile on the right hand side was already messed up and I think he managed to made it look ok. I look forward to seeing what he can do when he has the free'er rein of 2 sided tile or less.

Intersting...
Interesting that this one is a 4 sider when the one above, my on is also a 4 sider... I suppose there used to be one above this one but it got deleted yet the edge of it still remained or something.
I foudn it hard to blend into teeh remaining bits of blue and purplr at teh top and it turns out they didn't even come from this tile but from the one that used to be above this one.
I see what you mean about it not really blending, it's like teh took the edges of teeh surrounding tiles and brought them in a bit then just shredded them and made his own pic in the middle.

Re: Intersting...
Yeah. Evil, you could have blended it by gradienting the three blues as the tile background, and made the "grass" on the bottom the tile's ground. Then you could have added sky detail so it fit with the styles of the borders, and placed the creature on top of the grass and in front of the blues. That'd blend well and be a nice picture in and of itself. But, hey, this is your first tile; you have plenty of time to learn.
