RE: I was trying to do it good.
I think you succeeded. Awesome shark! My only suggestion would have been to put some more detail in the water and more for the next tile to blend to. Good job!
Floating in the ...
Sky. The shark and fish need a blue tint to them or something, because it looks totally above water now, especially with the colors. We need to tile downward, now, I think... stop going up.
Oh yeah...
And the copy and paste fish in the upper right hand corner could use some variance. Even though they head the same way, they turn a little and bump into each other sometimes.
Re: Oh yeah...
and yeah. correct me if i'm wrong(!!!) cause in that case I appoligies. but if i'm right, wich i think i am, you can appoligies, because i belive you havn't painted this on your own. .. as i said above, correct me if i'm wrong.
Re: Re: Oh yeah...
Yeah... u right... sombody came and paint this tile on his own. :) ) i guess it's a compliment??? :) )
Re: Re: Re: Oh yeah...
rather than "trace", i think the term is "paint by numbers". you are painting[on a seperate layer]over top of an existing photograph [or digital graphic].
when looking at all your tiles it is QUITE OBVIOUS which tiles are hand drawn and which are "paint by numbers". i think this technique is fine as a "starting point" [especially if your freehand drawing needs work].
the problems with this is your free hand drawing will not improve much if you do all your work using this technique exclusively, and once you have done the "paint by numbers" thing... you should then continue to evolve the piece, making the artwork your own. it doesn't look like your doing that. it looks like you're doing a coloring book and are content to stay inside the lines.
suggestion: use the pre-existing piece if you want, but just to establish correct proportions and placement... then turn that layer off and free hand the rest.

Thanx for you post, but i didn't paint it on existing photograph
Re: Re: Oh yeah...
it looks like a trace from a shark photograph done with Flash5 (trace-option) or something. I used to do that alot for my flash stuff.

Art
DD: This is all original hand draw artwork by you, correct? That yellow fish seems eerily familiar to me.
Re: Art
Yeah. Correct... And about yellow fish - the head of this fish is the head of aquarium fish skalaria (or somthing like this), but yellow and the last part - some kind of my fantasy - i'm sure such fish does not even exist. It is very simple to draw it, but i spend a lot of time while drawing the shark (really i draw it the day befor i've check out this tile).
hm... i can't believe
what is wrong with this tile??? Why so low score????
I hate the tile.
There's too many things contradicting itself within the tile. I mean, look at the crappiness of the little fish in the upper corner, and your obvious misunderstanding of colors. Sure, sharks are grey, but when they're in the water they're more bluish, especially in the background, if it actually -looked- like it was in the water, it wouldn't be so bad. That little yellow fish in the lower corner stands out so much it makes my eyes hurt. Actually, butterfly fish you don't normally see floating around in the middle of nowhere with a great white. They live in coral reef environments.
Other than that, the tile looks like it has been traced, and the style is simply unbefitting of the quilt. It looks like a photo with a filter over it, even though I'm pretty sure you only referenced the shark and didn't use a photo, hence the misusage of colors. Sorry you caught me in a bad mood, but maybe no one else would have ever said this. I would be glad to send the tile back to you so you can have another go at it. I don't want to encourage you to delete the tile or give up on it entirely... But I would like for you to have another try. Okay?

Re: I hate the tile.
Hm... i don't know what is butterfly fish, i think it is yellow one... i'm not the specialist in fishes. I don't know what do you mean when you say "traced", becose i start using computer in my art just few months ago. Actualy i prefer brushes and paper.
And i don't wanna make another try, becose i don't think that if yellow fish lives in coral environment i have to put corals in tile. I don't wanna explore fish live befor making my art. And i don't think that i can not draw shark using colors that i want. And finnally i like this tile. If you think that it brings real harm to quilt, you can ask root to remove this tile.
And... Am i have to put 1 mark to all tiles that are worse that this one?????
